2. Data Protection Officer
A Data Protection Officer has not been appointed because the legal thresholds are currently not met (see Art. 37 GDPR and §38 BDSG). We will reassess this regularly.
3. Processing activities, purposes and legal bases
3.1 Provision of the website / server logs
When you access our site, our hosting provider automatically processes: IP address, date/time, requested URL/file, referrer URL, HTTP status code, amount of data transferred, and user agent.
Purpose: technical delivery, stability and security (e.g., detecting misuse/attacks).
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
Retention: typically up to 30 days.
3.2 Cookies and similar technologies
We use strictly necessary cookies/technologies to provide our site. Non-essential tools (e.g., analytics/marketing) are used — if at all — only with your consent.
Legal bases: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (necessary), and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR together with applicable ePrivacy rules for access to/end-device storage (consent).
Details and your withdrawal options are provided in the consent banner (if displayed).
3.3 Contacting us (email / forms)
When you contact us, we process the data you provide (e.g., name, email, message) to handle your request.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual/contractual inquiries) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (general inquiries).
Retention: until your request is completed and/or as required by statutory retention periods.
3.4 Embedded third-party content (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, X) (if used)
Loading embedded content may transmit data (including your IP address and device/browser information) to the respective providers, potentially outside the EU/EEA.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent via two-click solution/consent banner) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR where strictly necessary for delivery.
3.5 Applications (if offered)
We process applicant data (master data, contact details, CV, certificates, interview notes).
Legal basis: §26 BDSG (establishing an employment relationship); Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR for a talent pool (if applicable).
Retention: generally 6 months after the process ends; longer with consent for a talent pool.
3.6 Reach measurement/analytics (currently not active)
We currently do not use analytics tools that require consent. If activated in the future, we will inform you here and obtain your consent beforehand.
4. Recipients / processors
- Hosting / website builder / CDN: Webflow, Inc. and affiliated entities (EU data residency available; data processing agreement in place; international transfers safeguarded, e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses).
- IT service providers: email, support and maintenance providers acting as processors (Art. 28 GDPR).
- A list of key processors is available on request.
5. Third-country transfers
Where services outside the EU/EEA are involved (e.g., in the USA), transfers are based on appropriate safeguards under Art. 46 GDPR (notably EU Standard Contractual Clauses). Copies or information are available upon request.
6. Storage periods
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described or as required by law. See the sections above for specific periods.
7. Your rights
You have the rights of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21) under the GDPR.
Withdrawal of consent is possible at any time with effect for the future.
Right to lodge a complaint: You may contact a supervisory authority, e.g., the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
8. Obligation to provide data
There is no statutory obligation to provide personal data. Certain features (e.g., contact forms) may require minimum information.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures (TOMs) to protect data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls, encryption and regular security updates.
10. Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when laws, services or processes change. The current version is always available on this page.
